Robert Joseph Martin II, 48, of 2206 Olds St., Sandusky, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, Feb. 11, 2007, at his home.
He was born Jan. 17, 1959, in Clare, Mich. He was formerly employed for many years with the Lear Corporation in Huron. He was a member of Faith Memorial Church in Sandusky, where he was involved in ministering and assisting with the Children’s Church Ministry. He enjoyed helping people work on their cars and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Martin is survived by his wife of 28 years, Patti (Lindsey) Martin, whom he married in 1978; his son, Robert (Kristen) Martin III of Chrisfield, Md.; his daughters, Julie (Patrick) Robinson and Jessi Martin, both of Lakeland, Fla.; a grandson, Logan Robinson of Lakeland; three brothers, Kenneth (Diane) Crane of Jemison, Ala., Ervin (Cheryl) Crane of Sandusky and Lawrence (Jane) Allen II of Monroeville; and seven sisters, Pat (Rich) Leber of Monroeville, Sandra Jesse of Charlotte, Mich., Larena (Gary) Sebrell of Lansing, Mich., Linda Anderson of Killbuck, Ohio, Nannette Villareal of Bellevue, Nancy (Allen) Smith of Monroeville and Marilyn (Ken) Missler of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Evelyn (Barnhart) Allen; and a sister, Debra Sue Allswede.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Memorial Church, 1320 E. Strub Road, Sandusky, and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until services at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Tom Groot will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Martin Memorial Fund in care of Faith Memorial Church.
