Elwood L Clemens passed away Saturday, Feb. 4, 2007, in North Hills Hospital in North Richland Hills, Texas.
He was a 1949 graduate of Sandusky High School and served as a mason and an active member of Second Baptist Church of Sandusky for many years. Clemens was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and officer of the Sandusky Police Department. He was also employed with Eastern States, Scott Paper and retired from Tennoco Automotive in 1995.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 39 years, Christine Clemens of Sandusky; sister, Ida King of Sandusky; daughter, Verdell (Darnell) Osborne of Fort Worth, Texas; sons, Donavan (Foxie) Clemens of Columbus, Ohio, and Eric Clemens of Lorain, Ohio; four grandchildren, DJ Cousins of St. Petersburgh, Fla., Christopher Cousins, Kierrah Clemens and Demetrius Clemens of Columbus; a great-grandchild, Jayden Cousins; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until services at 10 a.m. in the International Christian Center, 990 Kingsmill Parkway, Columbus. Burial will be at noon Monday in Dayton, Ohio, at the Veterans National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Wayne T. Lee Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, Key Bank is taking donations to assist the family with burial expenses.
