Robert C. Horn, 85, of Milan, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
He was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Sandusky. He served in the U.S. Army in the 180th Engineer Battalion. He received the Purple Heart, good conduct medal, American Service Medal, European African and Middle Eastern Service medals, along with five bronze stars. He was a lifetime member of the Norwalk VFW 2743 in Norwalk, American Legion Post 41 in Norwalk and the Eagles Aerie 711 in Norwalk. He was a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in Sandusky and retired from Baypattern Works in Milan.
He is survived by his son, Herman Horn of Bay View; and a sister, Melba Nardecchia of Milan; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Horn in 2000; brothers, Cliff Horn and Urban “Art” Horn; sisters, Evelyn Welch and Rita Thomas; parents, Urban and Golden (Chase) Horn.
Friends may call from 5–8 p.m. Friday in Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, where services will be 11 a.m. Burial will be at Milan Cemetery with military honors.
