Emma Daniel, 98, of rural Willard, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at her home.
She was born May 23, 1908, in Bismark, Ohio, to Daniel and Elizabeth (Didion) Mahl, now deceased, and was a resident of the Bismark area all of her life. She worked at Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard and also worked on the family farm, as well as being Mom and Grandma. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society at the former St. Sebastian Catholic Church and a member of St. Gasper del Bufalo Catholic Church in Marywood, Ohio.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Esther and Richard Schnellinger of Willard; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gerald Daniel and Marvin and Helen Daniel, all of Willard; daughter-in-law, Nancy Daniel of Willard; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Daniel in 1946; a son, Virgil Daniel in 1997; her parents; five brothers, Herman, Carl, Ralph, Arnold and Linus Mahl; and two sisters, Mary Ann Bauman and Irene Stockmaster; granddaughter, Josephine Daniel in 1965; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 Monday at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gasper del Bufalo Catholic Church in Marywood with the Rev. John Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery in Bismark, Ohio.
