Carrie V. Rupert, 88, of Sandusky died Thursday morning, Feb. 4, 2010, in Providence Care Center, Sandusky, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 12, 1921, in Penfield, Pa. Carrie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sandusky. She loved her cats, to read, work jigsaw puzzles, take long walks, music and being a hostess, but mostly enjoyed her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Darlene (Robert) Uhlinger of Cape Corral, Fla. and Linda (Doug) Ott of Sandusky; son, Les (Carol) Rupert of Lambertville, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Dana Davison, Mary (Tim) Seelhoff, Amanda (Jeff) Biggs, Jeremy Rupert, Laura (Doug) Marcum, Jason (Gretchen) Ott and Joshua (Korin) Ott; great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William John Purnell in 1944; second husband, Don V. Rupert in 2005; parents, Charles and Mary (Hoyt) Berkey; and four brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Sunday in Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave. An additional calling hour will be from 9 a.m. Monday until the funeral at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2211 Mills St., Sandusky; the Rev. Dr. Gary R. Ulrich will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
