Carol A. Houlett, 64, of Whites Landing died Thursday night, Feb. 4, 2010, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 30, 1945, in Kane, Pa. She graduated from Smethport High School in 1963. She worked for the Federal Aviation Agency in Washington D.C. and was a real estate and insurance agent for Bolte Real Estate. Carol was a member of the National Association of Realtors, Firelands Board of Realtors and Independent Insurance Agents Association.
She is survived by her husband, William Houlett Jr.; two daughters, Kimberly (Dana) Ruffing of Vickery and Sandra Chenal of Bolivar, Ohio; son, Rusty Houlett; three grandchildren, Beth Ruffing, Desiray Houlett and Savannah Ryerson Houlett; parents, Laverne Hanson and Mary Jane Bridge; twin brother, Ronald (Linda) Hanson of Middletown; sister-in-law, Linda Houlett; brother-in-law, Gary Houlett; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Ruffing; and mother-in-law and father in-law, Rose and William Houlett.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
