Joseph R. Myers, 56, of Marblehead, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, in Riverview Senior Health Care Campus, Oak Harbor.
He was born Dec. 7, 1950, in Port Clinton, the son of Charles W. and Anna E. (Pepon) Myers, now deceased. Mr. Myers worked as an electrician for Hanson Aggregate for 16 years, and prior to that he worked at LaFarge Quarry in Marblehead. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, a life member of VFW Post 7572, Marblehead, and a member of International Union of Operating Engineers.
Surviving are his sisters, Edna J. (Frank) Zalar of Marblehead and Anna Mae (Terry) Newman of Howell, Mich.; brother, Charles N. (Karen) Myers of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John W. Myers; and an infant brother.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, where prayer services will be at 6 p.m. Prayer services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, with the Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will be in Clemons Cemetery, Marblehead.
