Joan G. Little, 71, departed this life Feb. 2, 2007, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 27, 1935 to Florina (Minnich) and Eugene Busam. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1953 and from Mercy School of Nursing in 1957. Her first love was laughing with family and friends, and her numerous interests included Cedar Point, Lake Erie, music, gardening, pets and genealogy. In 1958, she married John C. Harpst of Sandusky, who preceded her in death in 1984. In 1997, after 10 years of courtship, she married Thompson Little. They shared much love and laughter before his death in 2004.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William Busam; and her sister-in-law; Grace Busam.
She is survived by her sons, John Harpst (Miki Betrone) of Sunbury, Bryan Harpst (Janet Castellano) of Johnstown and Sherwin Little of Sharonville; daughters, Dawn (Lee) Peters of Westerville, Alison Little of Columbus and Jennifer (Shawn) Hubbard of Johnstown; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ali Betrone-Harpst, Jake and Troy Peters, Shane, Shawn and Jenna Hubbard; brother, Jim Busam of Wake Forest, N.C.; sister, Barbara (Bob) Volz of Sandusky; sister-in-law, Mary Busam (Ernst) of Sandusky; life long friend, Nita Kelly of Toledo; loving cousins, Gerri, Carol, Debbie, Sarah and Hannah Stollenwerk; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Memorial Mass will be 2:30 p.m. today at St Elizabeth's Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Boulevard, follwed by a celebration of life for family and friends at 4 p.m. Details will be announced after the service.
