Zita M. Rhea, 84, of Marblehead, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, in Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus, Cottage Cove, Oak Harbor. She was born April 25, 1922, in Marblehead, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Harnad) Turinsky Sr., now deceased. She worked in housekeeping at Memorial Hospital and then at Firelands Community Hospital, Sandusky.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, where she served on the Altar Rosary Society and was also a charter member of Marblehead VFW Post 7572. Her hobbies include knitting and crocheting, and she loved decorating for the holidays.
Survivors include her sister, Barbara Merrill of Marblehead; brothers, Coleman and Andrew Turinsky of Marblehead; many nieces and nephews; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Albert Bango; second husband, George Rhea; brother, Francis Turinsky; and sisters, Alberta Turinsky and Mary Sauvey.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 7755 East Harbor Road, Lakeside-Marblehead, Peninsula Chapel, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. and where prayer services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marblehead, with The Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Marblehead.
