Juliana "Oma" Norman, 85, of Bellevue, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, in the Bellevue Care Center.
She was born Sept. 15, 1921, in Schweinfurt, Germany, the daughter of Adolf and Maria Wittman Happ. She married Alfred C. Norman, now deceased, on Aug. 3, 1957, in Schweinfurt, Germany and was a homemaker and secretary for many years. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, traveling, playing cards and bingo. She was also a very active volunteer in the area and in 2004, she won the Volunteer of the Year Award at the Rotary Commons.
She is survived by sons, A. William (Joanne) Norman of Bellevue and Donald (Elaine) Norman of Bellevue; daughters, Renate (Ronald) Conlon of Severn, Md., La Dawn (Richard) Saxton of Lakewood and June (Garth) Reitz of Bellevue; 25 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughters, Gertraud Ramey and Darlene Timmons; and sister, Elise Grill.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Foos and Son Funeral Home, 311 W. Main St., Bellevue, with rosary services at 7p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue with The Rev. Keith Stripe officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
