Willard W. Ward, 69, of Marblehead, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
He was born May 8, 1937, in Lawton, W. Va., moved to Margaretta Twp. in 1968 and lived the past three years in Marblehead.
He retired from Ford Motor Co., Sandusky, in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps and served from 1956-60. He was a member of the Marine Corps League of Norwalk.
He is survived by a long time companion, Jean Taylor of Sandusky; two daughters, Ronda (Paul) O'Neill of Mentor, Ohio, and Dena "Debbie" Rushing of Mentor on the Lake, Ohio; and a brother, Charles Ward of Mount Hope, W.Va.
He is preceded in death by his former wife, Lois Ward (Rushing); parents, Davis and Ora (Garten) Ward; three sisters, Audra Call, Joy Pennington and Arlena Ward in infancy; and three brothers, Gilbert, William and Franklin Ward.
Private family services will be at a later date.
