Michael Anthony Mortensen, 36, Sandusky, died Saturday morning, Jan. 20, 2007, at home, under the care of his loving family, friends, and Stein Hospice, after battling brain cancer.
He was born Aug. 6, 1970, in Sandusky, and lived most of his life in Sandusky and Norwalk. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1989 and enlisted in the Navy Sept. 27, 1989. He received a medical discharge in 1990 with the classification of aviation repair.
He is survived by his loving partner, Lisa (Costello) Pruitt of Sandusky; his sons, Magnus and Javyn Mortensen, both of Sandusky; father, George Mortensen of Milan; mother, Sylvia Leos of Norwalk; brothers, Dave Mortensen of Milan and William (Dawn) Mortensen of Norwalk; nephews, Ethan and DJ Mortensen; nieces, Nevaeh and Kalynn Mortensen; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Tuesday until funeral services at 1 p.m. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Francis Speier will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
