Charles "Skip" Duggan, 66, of Put-in-Bay, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in the University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born June 3, 1940 in Put-in-Bay, the son of Lyle C. and Doris V. (Faulkner) Duggan, now deceased. He married Sharon Lunt on Oct. 29, 1960. Mr. Duggan, a former captain for Miller Boat Line and a commercial ice fisherman, founded Island Bike Rental and Island Transportation. He also purchased Parker Boat Line in 1988 and started the Jet Express Co. in 1989, and he purchased the Perry Cave in 2000. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Put-in-Bay, past president of Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce, past trustee of DeRivera Park and he collected antique cars and started the Island Antique Car Parade 10 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon; son, Charles T. "Chip" Duggan of Put-in-Bay; daughter, Dianne "DeeDee" (Mike) Steidl of Put-in-Bay; brother-in-law, whom he raised, Arthur Charles "Chuck" Lunt of Carlisle, Ohio; grandchildren, Charles Edwin "Charlie" Duggan, Daniel Joseph Duggan, Charles Joseph Vitalii "Talii" Steidl and Duggan Robert Evan "Doug" Steidl; and sister, Nancy (Roy) Duggan McGary of Put-in-Bay.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul Episcopal Church, Put-in-Bay. Burial will be in Mapleleaf Cemetery, Put-in-Bay.
