Louise Snyder, 85, of Norwalk, died peacefully in her sleep, Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007.
She was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Marion, Va., to George D. and Alice (Snavely) Prater, now deceased. She graduated valedictorian from Marion High School and graduated from Marion College. She married The Rev. J. Allen Snyder, now deceased. They lived in Bland, Va.; Easton, Pa.; Tatamy, Pa.; Monongahela, Pa.; Ashtabula, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pa.; Selinsgrove, Pa.; Marysville, Pa. and Marion, Va., before settling in Norwalk in 1991. She worked as a librarian in the Selinsgrove School Library and volunteered at the Norwalk Public Library. She also volunteered at St. Peter Lutheran Church and visited local nursing homes.
She leaves behind children, Jay and Jeanne Snyder of Hummelstown, Pa., Mrs. Dale (Betsey) Schnetzer of Huron, David (Dorothy) Snyder of Wadsworth, Ohio, Mrs. Jon (Judy) Hosfeld of Marysville, Pa., and Dan (Brooke) Snyder of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Thinh (Hoa) Snyder-Pham of Rockville, Md., Caroline Schnetzer of Sandusky, Mrs. Dean (Linda) Cowan of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Tim (Victoria) Willer of Willoughby, Ohio, Mrs. Jeff (Barbara) Mack of Detroit, Mich., Rebecca Schnetzer of Ann Arbor, Mich., Suzi Snyder of Wadsworth, Ohio, Mrs. Sean (Anne) Grosz of Wickliffe, Ohio, Mary Beth Snyder of Wadsworth, David Snyder Jr. of Wadsworth, Andrea Hosfeld of Marysville, Pa., and Kate, Samantha and Aubrey Snyder, all of Portland, Ore.; great-grandchildren, Frances Mack of Detroit, Steven and Jakob Willer of Willoughby and Jeanne and J. Allen Snyder-Pham of Rockville and Andrew and Benjamin Lane of Wadsworth; sister, Doris (Donald) Pippert of Stuarts Draft, Va.
Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Peter Lutheran Church, 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, with the Rev. Fred Wiechers officiating. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
