Florence A. (Nemitz) Koelsch, 86, of Sandusky, died early Wednesday morning, Jan. 17, 2007, in Erie County Care Facility, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Sandusky. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and served as a volunteer with the Community Supper Program.
Mrs. Koelsch is survived by four daughters, Ann (Paul) Leimeister of Huron, Donna (Richard) Canino of Sandusky, Jean Rosswurm of Monroeville and Judy (Chris) Thorpe of Vickery; four sons, Ronald, Sr. (Mary) of Castalia, James (Cathie) of Sandusky, Ken (Shelly) of Milan and Larry, Sr. (Tammy) of Sandusky; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family at Erie County Care Facility, especially Lisa and Kim.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Koelsch, whom she married July 26, 1944, and who died on April 21, 1995; her parents, Rudolph J. and Cora I. (Rader) Nemitz; three sisters, Lenora Smith, Antoinette Kamann and Martha Didion; and five brothers, Rudolph Jr., Phil, Lawrence, Arthur, Leonard Nemitz and a brother in infancy.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayer services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Philip Feltman will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
