William J. L. "Bill" Hamann, 63, of Sandusky and formerly of Marblehead, died Saturday morning, Jan. 13, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born June 10, 1943, in Sandusky, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Bill was employed at Sandusky Discount Drug Mart for the past 5 years. Prior to this, he was a business owner in Sandusky and Marblehead for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Barbara J. Holmes; one son, Jim D. Hamann of Sandusky; one daughter, Kathy M. (Brian) Hendrix of Clyde; two grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd (Roxanne) Hamann of Marblehead; one sister, Elona Holeman of Fostoria, Ohio; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shania L. Hendrix; his parents, Lloyd and Lillian (Ontko) Hamann; and one sister, Patricia Warnke.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Bill Michaels will officiate.
