Joseph C. Edwards, 82, of Clyde, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 9, 2007, in Bellevue Hospital.
He was born Aug. 24, 1924 in Erwin, Tenn. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, receiving four Bronze Stars and the American Theater Ribbon.
He was employed by Standard Products in Port Clinton for 27 years, retiring in 1987, and also ran his painting business, Edwards and Fatiga Painting. He was a life member of VFW Post 2480, Port Clinton and loved being involved with his community.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda (Gill) Edwards; daughter, Connie (Chuck) Miller of Erwin, Tenn.; son, Joseph R. Edwards of Clyde; two grandsons, Dr. Charles Miller and Chase Miller, sister, Iris (Clyde) Keplinger of Erwin, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Lina (Miller) Edwards; son, Ronald, in infancy; and two brothers, Robert and Billy Edwards.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Dee Whaley officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
