Mercedes Englund, 83, of Bellevue, went to meet our Lord, surrounded by her family, Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Stein Hospice Center, Sandusky.
She was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Bellevue to Basil and Hilda (Walby) Lepley, now deceased. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1941 and was the assistant secretary with the former Industrial Savings and Loan in Bellevue for 20 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Altar Rosary Society and the St. Jude study club. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Englund, whom she married June 10, 1942, at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue; sons, Paul (Vicki) Englund of Mount Dora, Fla., Richard (Sandie) Englund, Greg (Sue) Englund and Marc (Dana) Englund, all of Bellevue, Don (Pat) Englund of Fremont, Ohio, and Jeffery (Laura) Englund of Lewis Center, Ohio; daughters, Beverly ("Bud") Falter of Bellevue and Kathy (Paul) Evert of Medina, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Lucille) Lepley of Bellevue and sister-in-law, Mary L. Lepley.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Eugene and Robert Lepley; a special niece and godchild, Janet (Lepley) Snyder.
Calling hours will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday in Foos & Son Funeral Home, Bellevue, where prayer services will be 5 p.m. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue, where The Rev. Keith Stripe, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
