Rose A. Artino, 81, of Sandusky, died early Monday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2007, in Grace Hospital, Amherst, Ohio, after a brief illness.
She was born March 27, 1925, in Sandusky. She had been employed with the former Vogel's and Hinde & Dauche Co. in Sandusky. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a life member of the former IAB Club. She enjoyed her family, two granddaughters, traveling and dancing.
Mrs. Artino is survived by two daughters, Linda (Bob) Wightman and Darlene (Ray) Harp, both of Sandusky; a son, Bill (Debbie) Artino of Sylvania, Ohio; two granddaughters, Breanna and Elizabeth Artino; sister, Jo Kelley of Sandusky; brother, Joseph Glorioso of Toledo, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Sam C. Artino, in 1990; her father, Samuel Glorioso, and mother, Michela (De Grande) Passanisi-Glorioso; two sisters, Virginia Kowalski and Josie Artino; and brother, Samuel Glorioso.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with The Rev. Marty Nassr officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
