James Robert "Pops" Plasman, 68, of Lawrence Street, Sandusky, died Saturday morning, Jan. 6, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a lengthy illness.
He was born June 28, 1938, in New Castle, Pa., and was a 1957 graduate of Sandusky High School. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Sandusky, in 1992. He was a past member of the Sandusky Pool League and Bowling League. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Plasman is survived by two daughters, Kathy Manhart of Clyde and Carol (Tim) Goodwin of Republic, Ohio; three sons, Steven Plasman of Norwalk and Robert (Cyndy) Plasman and James Plasman, both of Sandusky; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Flanagan and Susie Crandall, both of Sandusky; a brother, Donald (Lois Ann) Lawrence of Sandusky; and five nephews and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernell "Jack" and Kathryn (Wolfbrandt) Leaser.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. Thursday unti memorial services at noon at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
