Patricia Marie Schirg, 76, of 620 W. Strub Road, Sandusky, died Saturday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 19, 1930, in Sandusky. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Marys Catholic Church.
Mrs. Schirg is survived by her husband, Darrell C. "Doc" Schirg, whom she married Jan. 24, 1953; her daughters, Darla (Michael) Filipucci of Schaumber, Ill., and Julia (Erik) Anderson of Sandusky; three grandchildren, Erika Anderson of Stamford, Conn., and Nicholas and Emma Anderson, both at home; and special sister-in-law, Katherine Zepernick of Sandusky.
Her parents, Floyd and Cecilia (Eschenauer) McFarland; her sister, Betty Hoffman; and her brother, Joseph McFarland, preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral liturgical service at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Patricia's son-in-law, Deacon Michael Filipucci of the Archdiocese of Chicago, will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
