Walter L. Olivares, 57, of Sandusky, died Saturday morning, Jan. 6, 2007, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born in June 11, 1949, Sandusky. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Arlie) Brooks of Monroeville; son, Shane Gonzales of Sandusky; mother, Dorothy Ann Olivares of Sandusky; grandchildren, Travis, Alex and Chandler; sisters, Sandra Jean Graham of Springfield, Mo., and Debra Ann Johnson, Diane Sue Staab and Barbara Jo Johnson, all of Sandusky; brother, Timothy Allen Olivares of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Santos Juan Olivares, in 1999.
Private family visitation and services will be at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Flack will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery, with the American Legion Post 83, Sandusky, providing military honors.
