Mrs. Ella Mae (Greentree) Brady, 84, of Sandusky, died peacefully Thursday morning, Jan. 4, 2007, in Parkvue Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Brady was born May 21, 1922 in Belle Center, Ohio. She was a 1939 graduate of Kenton High School, Kenton, Ohio and Marion Business College in Marion, Ohio. Mrs. Brady was also a registered nurse, graduating from Flower Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio. She held the position of secretary-treasurer of the Brady Electric Co. for more than 30 years, was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sandusky and the Alumni Association of Flower Hospital. Mrs. Brady was past president of the Women's Civic Club of Sandusky, the Providence Hospital Volunteer Association and Mothers' Federation. Mrs. Brady was an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Brady is survived by two daughters, Ruth Brady of Cleveland, Ohio and Marlene (Greg) Gosser of Long Beach, Calif.; a son, Richard (Debra) Brady of Sandusky; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brady was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 1997, to whom she was married for 51 years (Jan. 26, 1946); her parents, John and Katherine (Fitzpatrick) Greentree; and one brother, Carl Greentree.
Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. Sunday in Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Central Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Marty Nassr will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clyde.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or to the Erie County Senior Center of Sandusky.
