Lawrence H. "Larry" Almroth, 62, of Whites Landing, Ohio, and formerly of Elmore, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007.

He was born March 22, 1944, in Toledo to Robert and Betty (Forbes) Almroth. Mr. Almroth married Vicki Carr in 1961. In 1994, he was a tool and die maker for Ford Motor Company, Sandusky plant. He previously worked at Ares Ordinance, Port Clinton and Almroth Block Co. in Elmore. He was an avid trap shooter and won a national championship in the early '80s. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and his time spent at The Cove in White's Landing.

Surviving are his sons, Michael (Annette) Almroth of Elmore and James (Wendy) Almroth of Arvada, Colo.; daughter, Shelly (Tim Nixon) Almroth of Frisco, Colo.; grandchildren, Benjamin and Steven Nixon, Jeffrey and Carly Almroth and Cortney Roepke; stepmother, Ruth Almroth of Elmore; half-brother, Charles Abdoo of New York; nephews, Robert Alvarez of McComb, Ohio, and Andrew Alvarez of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Alvarez.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John United Church of Christ, Elmore, with The Rev. Ed Heilman officiating.
