Florence Louise "Babe" (Yontz) Simon, 74, of New London and formerly of Huron, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
She was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Sandusky and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1950. She worked for Philco of Sandusky and retired from Norstat of Norwalk in 1995. She attended St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron and enjoyed camping, crocheting and her dogs and cats.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert J. Simon; a daughter, Barbara A. (Kevin) Howard of Sandusky; a son, Howard (Margie) Simon of Norwalk; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Karen (James) Kromer of Vermilion and Sharon (Frank) Bolda of Berlin Heights.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Nelta (Rickard) Yontz, and a brother, Henry "Buss" Yontz.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron. A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park Cemetery, Huron.
