Ruth E. Finke, 96, of Port Clinton, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at her residence.
Ruth was born April 28, 1918, in Port Clinton, the daughter of Edwin and Lura (Schlagel) Schrader. On Nov. 2, 1942, she married Theron R. Finke, in Georgia, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1980.
Ruth was a dedicated homemaker. She worked as the house mother at the Providence School of Nursing, a cook at Bataan Elementary School and an LPN at Magruder Hospital.
Ruth was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, and the women’s Priscilla Circle. She was a founding member of the Ottawa County Mothers of Twins Club. Ruth will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Ronald (Sandra) Finke, Donald (Jean Page) Finke and Todd (Lindi) Finke; daughter, Cynthia (Ben) Simpson; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday, July 27, in Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, by the Rev. James Lehman in St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, with visitation 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
Memorial donations in memory of Ruth may be given to St. John Lutheran Church.
