Charles W. Hendrickson, 93, passed away peacefully July 15, 2014, at Westminster-Thurber Nursing Center, Columbus.
Born in Lykens, Ohio, Chuck served in the U.S. Army during World War II earning the rank of Captain (Pacific Theatre). He went on to earn two degrees from The Ohio State University and an additional graduate degree from Case Western Reserve University.
After retiring from Shaker Heights High School in Shaker Heights as a chemistry teacher, he continued his love for teaching at Lakeland Community College.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Gladys Hendrickson; their two children, Charles D. and Nancy L. Hendrickson (Earle Tutunjian); and two grandchildren, Allison and Charlie (Anna) Hendrickson.
Interment is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, with the Rev. Lenore Kure presiding graveside.
The family wants to thank caregivers at Westminster-Thurber Community for their dedication to helping the elderly live comfortably, peacefully and with dignity in their senior years.
