Juanita Patricia (Walls) Sherrills, 62, of Columbus and formerly of Sandusky, passed from this life to eternal life surrounded by her loving family on July 1, 2014.
Juanita was born Feb. 23, 1952, in Memphis, Tenn., to Elijah Walls Sr. and Elnora (Woolfork) Garrett. She was the eldest of seven children. She was affectionately called “Neil” by her family and friends.
Juanita leaves to mourn her passing her six children, Ronna (Deon) Gray, Jason (Meschelle) Walls, Erica Walls, Justin Shine, Jerome Shine and Jonathan Shine; her 12 grandchildren, Darien and Deon Gray Jr., Jason Jr. and Jay-ziona Walls, Erianna and Kevione’ Brown, Jhamon Shine and Tamaria Locke, Jaceven and Jaciya Shine, Jabrion and Jakoryea Shine; her special sisters, Camille (Alvin Crosby) Sibbitt, Kathy (Michael) Goncalves, Joann (Charles) Grissom, all of Sandusky, and Norciva (Jim) Kosior, of Atlanta; brothers, Elijah and Gustava (Belinda) Walls, both of Sandusky; her aunt Katie Keahey; and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins; and a special mention to Tannie Shine Jr.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Walls Sr. and Elnora Garrett, and Gustava Garrett.
Juanita was buried according to her Islamic faith at Noor Islamic Cultural Center cemetery in Columbus. A celebration of her life will be held by her children for her family and friends.
