Jerry L. Shaw, 69, of Wakeman, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at his home after a four-year illness.
He was born Oct. 18, 1944, in North Lewisburg, Ohio, and moved to Sandusky in 1955. Jerry graduated from Sandusky High School in 1963. He served in the Ohio Army National Guard, Norwalk Post, from 1965 to 1972. Jerry was a supervisor at Janesville Products for many years and later was a drill press operator at Whirlaway Manufacturing in Wellington. He retired in 2007.
He enjoyed being with his family and supporting their activities. Jerry also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, riding motorcycles and snowmobiling. He liked to attend vintage car shows with a special fondness for “muscle” cars.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, A. Marcia Shaw; daughter, Victoria (Craig) Workinger, of Wakeman; son, Mark A. (Melissa) Shaw; five grandchildren; mother, Mabel Shaw; siblings, Harry E. (Maryanna) Shaw Jr., of Norwalk, Ron (Diana) Shaw, of Grand Haven, Mich., and Sonja Simon, of Milan.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Harry E. Shaw.
The family will greet friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, and from 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, until a service at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Ellis will officiate. Burial will follow at Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
