Alberta M. Phillips, 86, of Norwalk, passed away Monday afternoon, June 30, 2014, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 16, 1928, in Clyde, daughter of the late George L. and Ruth (Jamison) Carter, and lived most of her life in the Norwalk area. Alberta retired in 1997 with 32 years of service from Circon ACMI, Norwalk.
She enjoyed crocheting, baking, bowling, was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alberta is survived by her husband of 64 1/2 years, James G. Phillips Sr., of Norwalk; her children, Kathleen Phillips and Kay Phillips, of Norwalk, Karen and her husband James Tyler of Monroeville James G. Phillips Jr. and his wife Virginia of Salem, Ore., and Michael Phillips and his wife Danielle, of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Annette "Sue" McClaskey of Norwalk, and Emma Develle, of Waveland, Miss.; and her brothers, Lawrence Carter, of Round Rock, Texas, and Gaylord Carter, of Fremont.
There will be no calling hours or service. Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, is in charge of arrangements.
