Ruth J. Parker, age 91, of Castalia, died Monday morning, June 23, 2014, in Stein Hospice Care Center, following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Sandusky, and was a 1940 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was a secretary at the former Union Chain for many years, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Dawn, and watching Lawrence Welk.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Raymond) Turinsky of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Dawn, Ryan, Amethyst, and Andy; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Parker, Adrian, and Machenzie; her sister-in-law, Margaret Parker of Castalia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo in 1996; her parents; and her daughter, Pam Wolf in 2012.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia. Additional visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 26, until services at 10:30 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
