Tyler Michael Zahel, 3, of Bellevue was called home May 19, 2010, surrounded by his family at his home after a brave two-year battle with neuroblastoma.
He was born in Sandusky, June 8, 2006. He loved animals of all kinds, taking car rides, playing Nintendo Wii and playing on the computer. He loved just being around his family. He inspired so many who knew him personally, or not at all, by his strength, courage and passion for life. He will be sadly and dearly missed by his brothers, Caleb and Domanick, big sister, Sidney, Mom and Dad and many, many others.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Jacobs; father, Christopher Zahel; brothers, Caleb Cornwell and Domanick Zahel; and sister, Sidney Zahel, all of Bellevue. He is also survived by maternal grandparents, Keith (Mary Jo) Jacobs of Bellevue and Mary Arend of Toledo; paternal grandparents, Mark (Rhonda) Zahel of Castalia and Kimberly Bryant of Sandusky; great-grandparents, Shirley Sylvester, Valcie and Anna Jacobs, and Jo Haynes and Toney Zahel; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Gary Haynes, Cliff and Barbara Orshoski, and Kitty Zahel.
Friends will be received 4-8 p.m. Friday in Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, officiated by Dave Brown of The Chapel. Burial will follow in Castalia Cemetery.
