Doris Weiland, age 88, of Bellevue, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, in her residence.
She was born May 21, 1926, in Monroeville, the daughter of Walter and Cora Boehler.
Doris was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed going to flea markets and shopping.
Doris was one of the founders of Historic Lyme Village.
Survivors include her son, David (Sue) Weiland of Bellevue; daughters, Darlene (John) Nixon of Monroeville, Debra (Dean) Bellew of Bellevue; five grandchildren; five step-granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth Boehler of Monroeville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Weiland, whom she married June 15, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroeville, he preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2013; one brother, Melvin Boehler; and a grandson, Shawn Weiland.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. Saturday, May 31, until funeral services at 11 a.m., at Sandusky Community Church of the Nazarene, 1617 Milan Road, Sandusky. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery.
