Mary Louise “ML” Lepley, 88, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, in The Willows of Bellevue.
She was born Aug. 31, 1925, in Bellevue, to Harry J. and Corrine (Haensler) Herbel. Mary Louise was a 1943 graduate of Bellevue High School. She retired after 35 years as the women’s recreation director for the City of Bellevue. She organized all girls and women’s activities at Greenwood Heights.
Mary Louise was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Rosary Society; Daughters of Isabella; and St. Jude’s Study Club. Mary Louise’s favorite sport was Volleyball. She enjoyed volunteering for the Girl Scouts and Boys Scouts and taught P.E. at I.C.S..
She is survived by sons, Tom (Laurie) Lepley, of Bellevue, Bob (Diane) Lepley, of Omaha, Neb., and Jerry (Kathy) Lepley, of Galena, Ohio; daughters, Barb (Bob) Cheek, of St. Joseph, Mich., and Judy Claugus, of Eagle River, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She ws preceded in death by her husband, Eugene F. Lepley, whom she married Oct. 12, 1946, in Bellevue; daughter, Janet Snyder; her parents; and two brothers, Robert and Jack Herbel.
Calling hours will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 2:45 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 Broad St., Bellevue. The Rev. Jonathan Wight will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
