Arnold S. Ruffing, 69, of Bismark, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, in University of Toledo Medical Center.
He was born June 22, 1944, in Bismark, to Sylvester and Elizabeth (Simon) Ruffing.
Arnold was a member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, and served on committees at the Bismark Community Center. He was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Monroeville. He collected toy tractors, enjoyed attending tractor pulls in Bowling Green, Ohio, auctions, farming and camping. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Farmer), whom he married Jan. 16, 1970, at St. Paul’s Church, Norwalk. Also surviving are his six children, Arnold P. (Tina) Ruffing, of North Fairfield, Donald A. (Stacy) Ruffing, of Attica, Lisa M. Ruffing, of Bellevue, Sheri L. (the late, Andrew) Bischoff, of Monroeville, Mary E. (Dan Carpenter) Ruffing, of Norwalk, and John S. Ruffing, of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren, Alexis, Joey, Tiffany, Cheyanna, Jesse, Kylie, Kainon, D.J., Ava, Mataya and Aidan; a brother, Robert (Carolyn) Ruffing, of Norwalk; sister, Theresa Wilhelm, of Norwalk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda S. Ruffing; parents; sister, Jeanette (Harold) Daniel; brother, Charles J. Ruffing; and son-in-law, Andrew Bischoff.
Friends will be received 2-7 p.m. Monday, May 12, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church, 16209 E. Seneca CR 46, Bellevue. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
