Beverly A. (Filsinger) Smith, 72, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
Beverly was born Sept. 10, 1941, in Bellevue, daughter of the late William and Gladys (Wing) Filsinger.
Beverly graduated from Thompson High School. She was employed as a bartender for many years at Youngs Tavern.
She was a member of the Milan Friends Church, a past president and active member in the Milan Friend Lady Missionary Groups; she volunteered with the local food pantry and made many afghans for the Abigail Pregnancy Center, Norwalk. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Michelle Caputo, of Sandusky; her grandson, Joseph Walsh; great-grandchildren, Gauge and Grace Walsh; brother, Edmund (Gwen) Filsinger; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death her parents; brother, David Filsinger; and her grandson, Thomas Walsh.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. Monday, May 5, until a funeral service at 5 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky.
