Carole J. Enzor, 89, (Gannan) passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, in the Mercy New Life Hospice following a long illness.
She was born in Ashland, Ohio, Feb. 23, 1925, the daughter of Peter B. and Charlotte "Lottie" (Reep) Gannon. She was a graduate of Ashland High School in the class of 1941.
She worked as a dietitian at Stouffer's Restaurant for 25 years and then was co-owner of the Carole-Sue Galley in Lorain.
Carole was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 397, served as president for many years, American Legion Auxiliary-Fifth District President from 1974-1976, and served as liaison between State American Legion and the Ohio Veterans Home. She also was a member of the Erie County Eight & Forty.
She was active in the Lorain Senior Center, serving as president and chairman of board, and cooked for noon meals at the center. She enjoyed cooking, creating flower arrangements and crafting.
Carole is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Enzor; sons, Peter D. (Susan) Enzor of Amherst, Keith A (Wertly) Enzor of Wheaton, Md.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren. She was aunt and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister; and a brother, Robert Gannon.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th St., Lorain. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Bradley J. Donahue officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden, in Avon, Ohio.
