Norma (Wright) Smith, 90, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at her residence.
Norma was born on January 28, 1924 in Riceville, Kentucky to the late Ezra Sr. and Hattie (Burchett) Wright.
Norma was owner and operator of the Poodle Parlor in Indialantic, Florida and in more recent years she managed the former Annex, Rathskeller and Roman Villa bars. Norma was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a warm loving person who was cherished by those who knew her and was always willing to give a helping hand.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Jim) Mielke and Helen (David) Hansen;; grandchildren, Theresa (Chip) Greene, Robert (Sarah) Mielke, Natalie Zielinski andWesley (Jeanine) Orshoski; great-grandchildren, Justin, Josh, and Ashley Zielinski, Devin and Chase Greene, Elizabeth, James, and Levi Mielke; sisters, Garnet Mauk and Juanita (Gene) Fresch; brothers, Wade (Wanda) and John (Elaine) Wright and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle F. Smith; sister, Dovie Sauer; brothers, William (Bud) and Ezra Jr. Wright; sister-in-law, Eunice Wright and brother-in-laws, Ollie Sauer and John Mauk.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 11AM until time of services at 1PM at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory 1607 E. Perkins Ave, Sandusky, Ohio. With the Elder Oliver Jones presiding. Private family graveside services will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
