Elma E. Rice, 87, of Sandusky, passed away Friday morning, March 28, 2014, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Elmore, Ala., daughter of the late Nathan and Elvira (Maxie) Jackson. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, putting puzzles together, crossword puzzles, reading, singing, “making something out of nothing”, and her favorite, gardening.
Elma is survived by her children, Bulean Jackson-Moseley, of Detroit, Mary A. Rico, of Covington, K., and Jonathan (Sharon) Jackson, of Lanham, Md.; grandchildren, Lisa M. Williams, Shawn A. Jackson-Wilson, Kia M. Jackson-Garnett, Michael D. Moseley, Jonathan P. Jackson, DeCorian P. Rice, DeShannan P.C. Rice, Daleon T. Rice, and Devan M. Rice; 18 great-grandchildren; sister and sister-in-law, Willie P. Haywood, of Blasdell, N.Y., and Essie Jackson, Buffalo, N.Y.; and special friend, Dorothy Aaron.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Novella Fields, Isabell Ayers, Curlie Jackson, Erma L. Coleman, Elvester Ayers, Adolph Jackson, Ella Jackson, Leslie Jackson, Charles Jackson and Jasper Jackson.
At Elma’s request, services will be private.
