Frank W. Harris, 77, of Port Clinton, passed away, Sunday, March 30, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was born Nov. 2, 1936, in Forest City, N.C., to Richard Andrew and Marjorie Alva (Harris) Harris. On May 26, 1984, in Port Clinton,
he married Rebecca I. Robbins and she survives.
Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a laborer for General Motors in Flint, Mich., until his
retirement in 1992.
Frank was a lifetime member of VFW Homer D. Gardner Post 2480. He was also a member of Elk’s Lodge 1718, Moose Lodge 1610 and the American Bowling Association, all of Port Clinton. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Frank especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Becky I. Harris; daughter, Christie (Henry) Sewell; son, John (Beth) Prentice; mother-in-law, Ruby Travillian; sister, Linda Runion; sister-in-law, Priscilla (Charles) Elswick; brother-in-law, Don (Gail) Carroll; grandchildren, Gaven and Haylie Sewell, Courtney and Caitlyn Prentice, Randy, Kendra, Elianna, Declyn and Max Walton, Kurrie, Chantel and Valo Lewis; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Harold Runion.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, with a military graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870, on behalf of the Frank Harris family.
