Larry Swain, 63, of Sandusky, died Monday, March 24, 2014, in Admiral’s Pointe Nursing Home, Huron.
He was born in Sandusky on April 20, 1950, and was a 1969 graduate of Sandusky High School. Larry worked for Chrysler for 10 years, and after graduating from barber school, joined his father at Swain’s Barber Shop, where he continued to cut hair for over 30 years.
Larry loved to joke and laugh, play cards, dance, and spend time with his grandchildren and the rest of his family.
Larry is survived by his children, Johnathan “Matt” Swain, Mark Swain, Jason (Mecshell) Walls, Melissa Swain and Destiny Swain; five grandchildren; sisters, Thelma (Charles) Duvall and Ernestine (Thomas) Anderson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn (Twymon) Swain; and his brother, Herman Swain.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, until funeral services at 1 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 224 Dixie Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Scottie Aaron will officiate.
Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, or to Erie County Special Olympics.
