Patricia Fisher Botosan, 89, formerly of Norwalk, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, in Westlake, Ohio, after a brief illness.
She was born June 21, 1924, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where she attended Catholic primary and secondary education and was a proud alumni of Notre Dame College of Ohio.
Her first job after graduating from college was a traveling economist for the Philco Corp where she also appeared in television commercials. While representing Philco, she met Howard Fisher whom she married and settled in Norwalk for 45 years. While raising six children, Patricia held various business positions including being a member of the Firelands College Advisory Board. She assisted her college alma mater in organizing alumni clubs throughout the state of Ohio, substituted as a high school teacher, and was a feature newspaper reporter for the Lorain Journal. Patricia was also involved in many clubs and activities including the Ave Maria Study Club and the Huron County Home Economics Club. During summers in Huron, she enjoyed the Huron Playhouse, the Huron Yacht Club and boating on Lake Erie. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and volunteered as a lector. She enjoyed a 45-plus year association with her bridge club friends.
Upon the death of her husband, Howard, in 1985, she assumed the responsibility for the Fisher Music family business and successfully led the business until its closure in the early 90’s. Patricia was a snowbird to Naples, Fla., for the last 20 years where she was also very active in the Naples community. She volunteered with the Naples Chamber of Commerce and received recognition for her exemplary volunteer involvement in SCORE (Service Core of Retired Executives). She was also an active member of the Naples Chapter of the American Association of University Women. An ardent and strong business woman who was ahead of her time, she will be dearly missed by all.
Patricia is survived by her children, Marie Whitacre of southern Ohio, Marilyn Venables of South Euclid, Ohio, Kathleen Hupp of Newark, Del., Margaret Fisher of Wakefield, Mass., and John Fisher (Betty) of Sheffield Village, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
