John M. Kastor, 62, of Norwalk, passed away early Monday morning, March 17, 2014, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
He was born October 12, 1951, in Sandusky, to the late Merritt and Jean (Schieffley) Kastor and was a lifelong area resident.
John was a 1969 graduate of Edison High School, where he especially enjoyed playing basketball. He retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lorain, in 2003, with 32 years of service. John was a member of U.A.W. local 25. He enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, and working on cars. John was a baseball coach for many of his sons’ teams, and especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Darlene A. (Waag) Kastor of Norwalk; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason J. and Faith Kastor of Norwalk, Dustin M. and Kim Kastor of Huron, Daniel M. Kastor of Toledo, and Jordan J. Kastor and his fiancé, Jessica Soncrant, of Toledo; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Emma, Regan, Aiden, and Wilson; great-granddaughter, Autumn; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Russ Layton of Sandusky, Kathy and Jeff Tieche of Sandusky, Valerie and Dave Lucal of Norwalk, Patricia and Mark Thomas of New London, Marcia and Clarence Stanley of Berlin Heights, and LaDonna Jenkins of Millersburg, Ohio; and brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Vicki Kastor of Columbus, Ohio.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, until memorial services at 7 p.m., at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Rev. Brian Oglesbee, Pastor of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church will officiate.
