Veronica E. "Ronnie" Melick, 68, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning, March 13, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
she was born April 3, 1945, in Newark, N.J., to Charles Joseph and Mary Dolores (DiZio) Birmingham. In the past, she worked for nearly 10 years in the offfice of R.E. Dwight, D.O.
Ronnie enjoyed spending time with her family and truly loved watching her grandchildren. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Ronnie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frederick J. Melick; four daughters, Brenda M. (Jim M. Cummings) Melick of Powell, Ohio, Aileen J. (J. Ryan) Fischer of Columbus, Cynthia A. (Daniel) Romaine, of Westlake, Ohio, and Deborah L. (Chad W.) Hand, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; five grandchildren, Madalyn E. and Lucas Hand, Daniel B. and Joseph R. Romaine and Reid A. Fischer; and sister, Kathleen C. Birmingham, of Norwich, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 17, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with a Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Michael Roemmele will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
