Bruce A. Korte, 57, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly late Sunday morning, March 9, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born June 16, 1956, in Fremont. Bruce was a 1975 graduate of Carthage High School in Carthage, Ill., and a veteran - having served in the U.S. Navy. For several years he had worked as a project manager for Metropolitan Environmental.
Bruce is survived by a daughter, Amber J. Smith of Sandusky; a step daughter, Ashlee R. Albert of Columbus; three grandsons, Bryton and Peyton Smith, Cohen Nemitz; a brother, Chad Moore; a sister, Marcella Munger; and other brothers and sisters; and his favorite aunt, Patricia Day of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Karr; and his wife, Janine M. (Ruffing) Korte on Sept. 13, 2008.
At his request no visitation or funeral services will be held. Cremation has taken place.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home Activity Fund, in his name, 3416 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, OH 44870.
