Geraldine "Jeri" M. Conyer, age 84, of Huron, and formerly of Castalia, died Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2014, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Wellington, Ohio, and graduated from Townsend High School in Collins, Ohio, in 1948.
Jeri was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Castalia. She worked for Periodical Publishing for several years before starting at New Departure in 1952, where she worked for 30 years - retiring in 1982. Jeri was a member of the American Legion Auxilary, Post 83, Sandusky, V.F.W. Post 2529, Sandusky, I.A.B Club, Sandusky, Women of Moose Club, Sandusky, Club Amer-Ital, Bellevue, German-American Cultural Center, Olmsted Falls, and the Slovenian Club of Lorain. She enjoyed bowling, ballroom and polka dancing, traveling, and joining her special friends with the John Peters bus trips of Lorain.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Conyer; cousins, Thelma Rifenburg, Blanche Williams, and Vernon Jeffery; and several very special friends.
Jeri was preceded in death by parents, Ray and Eve (Davidson) Comstock; grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, until services at noon, at Grace Lutheran Church, 203 S. Washington St., Castalia. Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
