Della M. Boyer, 78, Sandusky, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Toller, KY., on Sept. 23, 1935.
Della was employed by Union Chain for 21 years and Barr Rubber for 16 years.
She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2529 auxiliary, Sandusky Eagles, Aerie 444, and the AMVETS Post 17, auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Mae (William R.) Thompson of Mentor, Ohio; son, Bernard Lewis Steible Jr. of Sandusky; several grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Duncan, Doris Gartner, and Lou Knerr; brothers, Bob, Dennis, John, Richard and Charles; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lanzie Boyer; parents, Columbus and Enos (Collins) Gillman; son, Joseph Michael Steible; and sisters, Gladys Burgura and Wanda Bruce.
Friends may call 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, at the funeral home, with Larry Fearing officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, the family invites everyone to join them at the Sandusky Eagles for a luncheon.
