Betty J. (Schroeder) Lehman, 85, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday, March 3, 2014, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 5, 1929, in Archbold, Ohio, daughter of the late Harmon and Edna Schroeder. She graduated from Archbold High School, and was a homemaker for much of her life, caring for her family.
She loved playing cards, knitting and crocheting, and was an excellent cook. She was good friends with many of her neighbors. They spent much time together, and Betty’s presence will be truly missed. She was most proud of her family, and loved spending time with them.
Betty is survived by her four children, Mary Beth Waterfield, of Toledo, Beverly (Gary) Fry, of Sandusky, Gregory (Elaine) Lehman, of West Chester, Penn., and Timothy (Joanie) Lehman, of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Gerald L. Lehman, in 2005; grandson, Michael Lehman; great-grandson, Jack Fry; and siblings, Harold, Velma, and Leroy.
At Betty’s request, cremation will take place. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to Parkvue, 3800 Boardwalk Blvd., Sandusky, OH 44870. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Parkvue for the excellent care they provided to Betty during her past rehabilitation.
