Mildred Irene Taylor, 87, of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, in her residence.
She was born March 8, 1926, in Port Clinton, the daughter of Leo and Lydia (Ohlinger) Beggs. On Nov. 11, 1944, she married George W. Taylor, and he preceded her in death April 12, 1981.
Mildred worked at New Departure in Sandusky, until her retirement in 1981.
She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1610 in Port Clinton, as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the American Legion Post 113 and V.F.W. Post 2480, both in Port Clinton. Her hobbies included playing Bingo, listening to country music, dancing, solving crossword puzzles, and being with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Georgia (Jeff) Auxter of Port Clinton, Terry (Bill) Hepp of Sandusky, and Vicky Taylor of Sandusky; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, David Beggs; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lydia; husband, George; daughter, Jerry (Terry’s twin sister); brother, Harold Beggs; infant sister, Hazel; and sister, Helen Kreager.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, until funeral services at noon, at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St., Port Clinton. Pastor Christina Craig will be officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton.
