Dorothea Marie Chicotel, 69, of Sandusky, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Stein Hospice Care Center.
She was born July 17, 1944, in Sandusky. She was employed for 25 years with the Erie Huron Ottawa Educational Service Center.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and the IAB Club. She loved league bowling, cards, crocheting and reading.
Dorothea is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Keith) Rohrbacher, Patty Chicotel and Jennifer (Isiah) Hill, all of Sandusky; son, Larry Chicotel, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Brianna, Shelby, Destiny, Toby, Faith and Shania; and brother, David Macaluso, of Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaton Chicotel, in 1994; father,Thomas Macaluso Sr.; mother, Jennie (Pomerson) Jordan; and a brother, Thomas Macaluso Jr.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Joe Steinbauer will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
